An Opinion

by Linda K. Rettstatt

It is my opinion that, though Preditors and Editors attempts to offer a legitimate and informative service, every recommendation cannot and should not be taken at face value. Case in point--Wings ePress. I am an author with Wings ePress. They were recently noted as 'Not Recommended', without further explanation. I questioned this and was told by David L. Kuzminski of P&E that it was because Wings was selling books that were not under contract.

Being an author contracted with Wings, I immediately contacted the president of the corporation to verify this. I was told and have no reason to doubt that this is a totally unfounded charge.

I would caution writers and other using the P&E site to use your own good judgment as well. Contact publishers, etc to verify negative information before you determine that P&E is all-knowing and the publisher is the devil incarnate!

I now have to question P&E's practices in making determinations and listing negative feedback on this site. I encourage you to do the same.

Of course, since P&E reserves the right to edit anything submitted to them for this page, I doubt you'll get the gist of my opinion.

Thank you.
