PUFFIN BOOKS: A children's book publisher.
Pugu Press: defunct: "While we do charge the author for services, we believe that our prices are the fairest. Also, our dedication to alleviate the horrors of author payment and royalty-raiding serves only to show that we do care about the authors. Proof of this is our vow to have the printer send a statement to the author, upon request, to back up the statements we send out.
Vanity/subsidy presses serve a particular niche in the world. While their direct purpose is not fully known (or even realized at times), we do strive to supply a service that is in need. We also feel that in order to break the cycle of ‘rip-offs’, vanity presses that aren’t in the business to scam authors need to be founded and proven to work."
